Monday Hexham and Alnwick castle & Gardens

With it's striking Cathedral, Hexham is regarded as one of the best market towns in the Uk. On our way to Alnwick Castle stop off at Hadrians wall for photos before spending the afternoon at 700 year old Alnwick castle. See the lavish state rooms, drawing room, dining room and the 400 year old library with 16,000 books. Roam the 26 acre garden with elaborate water features and poison garden.

 

Tuesday Newcastle & Tyne Cruise

Morning free to explore one of Britain's most iconic cities, famous for it's industrial heritage, brown ale and "Geordie" dialect. After Lunch hear stories about the city on a 2 hour Tyne cruise with commentary viewing the city's famous landmarks including the Tyne Gorge and all seven bridges.

 

Wednesday Heritage coastline & Holy Island

Northumbria is blessed with unspoilt beauty with it's tradition and lilting tonque. Today's coastal trail passes Beadnell bay to the popular fishing village of Seahouses, where stalls sell the freshest of seafood. Continue along the coastline to Bamburgh with free time for lunch. Take a walk on the golden beach, or visit impressive Bamburgh Castle. A must see is the Holy island of Lindisfarne, access is across the 2 miles causeway (tides permitting). Not only is the island the cradle of christianity,  but also a breathtaking beautiful isle to stroll round with several cafes and characterful pubs to enjoy a refreshment. Returning via the pituresque villages of Ford and Etal.
